The Witches Tarot

The Witches Tarot is a tarot art project by photographer and mixed media artist Chris Madsen (depicted in this collection as the fool and druid). This deck captures the dark and mystic beauty of the female form alongside sacred symbology and strong emotional context. This special witch tarot deck includes 13 new archetypes of the sacred feminine: The Maiden, The Mother, The Crone, Coven, Ritual Magick, Burn at the Stake, Wax, Wane, The Druid, Hekate, Lilith, Hel and Selene.

The Witches tarot is an entirely female deck with the exception of my self portrait. This deck contains 91 cards of original art.

The Witches Tarot is made of 350gsm paper with soft touch coating on the cards, box, and full color perfect bound booklet. The box is a heavy duty construction with magnetic closure.

Artist Statement

My art exists at the intersection of the organic and the digital, where flesh blends with layered patterns to create vintage-inspired, witchy, and deeply emotional images. Through this fusion, the human form becomes a vessel for the sacred and strange, capturing moments of haunted reverence toward the Feminine in her most primal, exalted state.

I call this style Emotional Cinema, a living body of work that explores sacred geometry rising from within the female form. Each piece is both offering and incantation, a visual ritual carved in light and shadow. At its heart stands the Goddess wearing flesh—not a symbol, but a presence. She emerges in symmetry and silence, cloaked in beauty, power, and the unknown.

She is the myth reborn in skin. The divine made mortal. The story that lingers beneath the surface.
